Nic. has had
a busy year so far working on a variety of interesting projects. He and Val Garay are back in the studio
producing pop singer Katrina’s recordings for Red Red Records. Check out her latest chart topping dance hit
“OPM” (Other People’s Money) on AOL’s music blog: http://blog.music.aol.com/2011/08/03/katrina-opm-video
Nic. and Val
are also producing heritage act Pablo Cruise’s new album featuring some of
their Top 40 hits from the ‘70s and ‘80s (remember: “Place In The Sun” and
“Love Will Find A Way”?). The project
will showcase live recordings along with several of Pablo’s hits, rearranged
and featuring some of today’s top pop vocalists.
More on the
producing front, Nic. will be recording an album of several live club performances
by the amazing jazz pianist, Michael Wolff and his trio. Joining Michael will be the brilliant
trumpeter/composer Mark Isham, John B. Williams on bass and Mike Clark on
drums. Nic. and Oscar winning engineer, Dan Wallin, will capture Michael’s
unique and harmonically adventurous interpretations of classic jazz standards,
along with some of his original compositions.
Nic. also had
the recent pleasure of working with wonderful Broadway talent, singer/actress
Janene Lovullo, for an album of some of her favorite show tunes. Nic. created a wonderful arrangement of
“Joey, Joey” that perfectly highlights Janene’s soaring and emotive vocals. Recorded at Capitol Studios with a 40 piece
orchestra.
From CD’s to
TV, Nic. just completed composing the score for a sit-com pilot: “Old Dogs
& New Tricks”. This West Hollywood
version of Sex & The City is already garnering terrific buzz and
enthusiastic reviews.
More to
come…stay tuned…

NEWS - 2007
Finishing off the year, "The Amateurs", a comedy with a stellar cast including Jeff Bridges, Ted Danson and Joe Pantoliano, opened in limited release in December. If you missed it in the theater, check it out on DVD (release date in March, 2008).
October 2007 was a busy month, capped off by a trip to Italy to attend the prestigious Rome Film Festival for the premiere of Robert Davi's directorial debut, "The Dukes" (for which Nic. composed the score). "The Dukes" was one of only 16 films selected to be shown in the "Premiere" spot, which also included new films by Francis Ford Coppola and Robert Redford. Davi, Nic., Peter Bogdanovich, Eloise DeJoria and other cast members all came out to the event to walk the red carpet and support the film -- which was very well received by reviewers and a packed house at the Auditorium Parco della Musica.
In September Nic. completed recording a jazz score he composed for "Remembering Phil", an independent dark comedy starring Nicholas Turturro. Jazz luminaries bringing the music to life were: Roy McCurdy (drums), Bob Shephard (woodwinds), Todd Cochran (piano) and John B. Williams (bass).
In August, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger hosted a special screening of "The Dukes" at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles. Among those attending this exciting event were the film's stars: Chazz Palminteri, Peter Bogdanovich and Robert Davi.
